Team Detroit Volunteers at Gleaners

On May 18th, members of the Detroit team volunteered their Saturday at the Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan. Gleaners has been around for more than 35 years and has been “nourishing communities by feeding hungry people” to the tune of 46 million pounds of emergency food to more than 550 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries through 100,000+ meals a day.

In just under four hours, the team consisting of Don Gillespie, Lance Shaffer, Korlyn Decoster, Paul Ferguson, Duane Johnston, Tom Gunton and Theresa Fouts were able to sort 3,600 pounds of food which equates to 3,000 meals – WOW!

Great job, Team Detroit!
