Welcome to another installment of P1’s Community Spotlights! In Community Spotlights, we interview some of our amazing P1 teammates who are volunteering or contributing to their local communities in a positive way. Today, we are putting the spotlight on Michael “Mike” Roach, a commercial accounts specialist who has been a part of the P1 family for the past 7 years. Mike is working with the St. Baldrick’s Organization and preparing for a big event on March 29th. Here’s what Mike had to say:
P1: What organization do you support and what do they do?
Mike: St. Baldrick’s is an organization that raises money for children with cancer. Although they are used more than anyone in cancer advertising, children’s cancer is one of the more under funded research arms. St. Baldrick’s encourages “shavees” to grow their hair out and raise money throughout their drive. On March 29th, the drive ends and the shavees will have their heads shaved on stage at different locations.
P1: What is your role in the organization?
Mike: This year, I am a shavee. I’m growing my hair and beard out right now to prepare for March 29th.
P1: Is there a specific event you would like to talk about?
Mike: I’m shaving my head and beard on March 29th at Trinity Hall in Dallas, TX. My goal is to raise $750.00 in this, my first year. I’m honoring Olivia, a child from McKinney, TX who died from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Here’s the link to my page to donate and learn more.
P1: Where can we go to learn more about St. Baldrick’s?
P1: Anything else you’d like to add?
Mike: Check back to this page – I’ll be sending in pictures to post on this blog as I continue to grow my hair out and then shave it on the 29th. Thanks in advance for your help!
